The Beautiful Waters of Turks and Caicos

Turks and Caicos Beach Art

The ocean holds a special place in the hearts of so many. The peaceful and relaxing steady roll of the waves, crashing and lapping as they arrive at the beach.  The feel of the waves taking you up and down their crests and troughs. The long days of sitting in the warm sun, staring out into the horizon and watching the breakers crash at the edge of the shelf.

Of all the qualities of the ocean, the one that always takes my breath away is the bright blue glowing water of the Caribbean. The shades of blue that it presents are mind blowing, especially from a person who grew up only seeing the dark, murky colored waters of the Atlantic and Pacific.

Putting your head in these waters, you can see everything. The worlds that are hidden from you in the murky oceans are presented to you in the ways that you’ve only seen on TV shows. So many fish, sea turtles, coral for as far as your eye can see, shells everywhere, the rolls of the white sand and fields of sea grass.

One of my favorite places to go and experience these waters is the Turks and Caicos Islands. These islands hold a special place in my heart and I long to get back to them, especially on the short, cold days of winter here in Colorado. I want to grab my suit and sandals, hop on a plane and escape to their paradise.

There are so many different types of beaches on the islands, each with their own unique looks and qualities, and  personalities. There are the lazy, shallow peaceful beaches as well as tall cliff walls that have been shaped by big crashing waves showing the powerful side of the ocean. There is so much variety of beaches in T&C and they are only a few miles away from each other.

Turks and Caicos Art Print in Frame

In order to share the beauty of Turks and Caicos and the Caribbean in general, I created a new print to showcase the calm, peaceful, expansive blue waters and white pristine beaches. The creation of this piece brought me back to those laze days on the beautiful beach and letting my mind be at peace. I hope that it does the same for you.
